So while fellow Ducati rider Casey Stoner continues to be strong and enjoys yet another pole position, Nicky Hayden is doubtful to make his race debut following his high-speed crash in qualifying at the Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar. Suffering severe pain in his back and undergoing initial x-rays at the circuit medical centre, he was taken to the local Ahmad public hospital in Doha for further checks. Hayden required three stitches in a cut on his chest. Ever upbeat, he joked “I don’t feel like going for a jog right now, I can tell you that much!" Behind Stoner are the two factory Yamahas of Rossi and Lorenzo, with the satellite Yamahas of Edwards starting sixth and Toseland a disappoointing thirteenth.
